Softwood

Softwood is the wood of a tree (such as a pine tree) that is soft and easy to cut. It is wood from gymnosperm trees such as conifers (which are trees that have needles instead of leaves)
Softwood is the source of about 80% of the world’s production of timber; they are commonly used as wood ware for homes, cabins, furniture, structural framing, cladding and paneling, bench tops, flooring, decking, joinery, beams and poles. They are also used to produce paper pulp and for card products.
