Landscaping Your Home; A Step Closer To Nature

Last week, I visited my uncle who resides somewhere in Ikoyi. There was this peculiar house I noticed on the same street not too far from his house. It was surprising to me because I had just noticed it for the first time, Even though I have been to my uncle’s house on several occasions.
Anyway I was completely blown away by the beauty of this house and its surroundings and thank goodness I had with me on that day my digital camera so I was able to capture the beautiful piece of art. This got me interested in landscaping.
Landscaping refers to any activity that modifies the visible features of an area of land such as plants, structures, lightings, gardens or pools of water.
Landscaping is both science and art, and it requires good observation and design skills. A good landscaper understands the elements of nature and construction and blends them accordingly.
Outdoor areas are often the last to receive design attention, but this shouldn’t be. What surrounds your home is just as important as what is in it whether it is the manicured front lawn, the infinity edge pool in the back, or the garden just outside the house.
These spaces should benefit the same attention to detail as any living room, bathroom or kitchen. Well designed landscapes complement the home’s architecture and design, giving the home a story that can be read inside and out. By carrying your design style outdoors, you can turn a patio, deck, or even a balcony into another room of the house.
SO WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF HAVING PLANTS AROUND?

Due to jostling for space in urban areas most people have totally forgotten the needs and benefits of landscaping.
Having plants on your site beautifies the house greatly especially when the job is handled by a professional. It adds to the aesthetic appeal of your building, gives it a unique look.

It gives a feeling of a complete and ideal environment that can be called an ecosystem. Carbon dioxide generated by human beings during breathing is consumed by plants and they in turn return oxygen needed by humans to the atmosphere, this gives an aura of air freshness.
You can also have gardens that produce edible vegetables and fruits. If you have the time to tender your garden you are most likely going to enjoy the benefits of having fresh fruits and vegetables that you didn’t purchase.

Some people pay a lot of money to buy live birds in their homes, but landscaped gardens naturally draws interests of birds to the environment. Some of these birds have nice humming and beautiful feathers that can complement your environment. Also having them gives you a feeling of serenity, you feel closer to nature and appreciates it more when you are in the urban areas which is so full of hustles and bustles with little or no available space for green areas.
Learn to plant a little greens in your surroundings.

Enjoy the rest of your day.
